Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

The course is of four academic years (spread over 8 semesters) and the course is of three academic years (6 semester) for lateral entry students.

Minimum Qualification For Admission

1 Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/Computer Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology. Obtained at least 40% marks in the above subjects taken together.

2 For lateral entry in 2nd year B.Pharm for D.Pharm candidates passed from an AICTE approved institution with at least 50% marks.

3. 5% relaxation in Minimum eligibility criteria for SC/ ST category.

 

Pharm.D

The mission of the department is to provide quality teaching-learning programs that will prepare the students for entry into all areas of professional pharmacy practice. The department intends to promote research and service, demonstrating excellence in professional practice and outreach. Currently, the emphasis is placed on principles of pharmacotherapy and practice management for the purpose of advancing quality cost-effective pharmaceutical care.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice is committed to
  • Development of long-term functional practice skills in students, and others in the professional practice
  • Development and practice of systematic approach to identify and solve drug-related problems
  • Implementation of Good Pharmacy Practice Points for Clinical Pharmacists and for Clinical Pharmacy educators
  • Research leadership in desired areas of excellence and development of interdisciplinary research programs within the institute and other institutes of pharmaceutical sciences in the country and abroad
  • Leadership in national, state and local professional associations and a strong role in developing future practice standards and models
  • Providing the highest level of pharmaceutical services to our nation

Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.)

DURATION OF COURSE
The course of study is of two years duration from the start of academic calendar.

Minimum Qualification For Admission
1. 50% marks obtained in Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent degree.

2. 5% relaxation in minimum elegibility criteria for candidate belonging to SC/ST category.

Courses of Study
The curriculum of M.Pharm. shall be an annual system that include M.Pharm. Part-I, extending for 12 months from the commencement of the academic term and M.Pharm. Part-II of 12 months duration.

At the end of M.Pharm. Part-I there shall be an University examination of M.Pharm. Part-I. At the end of M.Pharm. Part-II the candidate shall submit a dissertation on topic approved by the University.
